Kate’s Positive C-Section
Often negative experiences seem to be louder than positive ones. This is no less true when it comes to births through c-section. Many families have had bad experiences with Caesarean birth as with all types of births. Those experiences should not be discounted and we should hear about them and learn from them. However, they are not the rule. Many women have very positive Caesarean birth experiences and hearing of them can encourage and allay fears of expecting mothers.
The female body is created to birth a child in one way, but sometimes there may be complications that would make it unsafe or less than ideal to birth vaginally. We are blessed to live in a time where Cesarean section birth is not only able to be performed but can be done more safely than in the centuries past. While c-section birth may not be the desired or natural way to deliver a baby, it is birth and can be a positive and beautiful experience.
It is understandable for families to be disappointed that they may not have been able or advised to birth in the way they had planned but it can still be a wonderful experience. I wanted to share Kate’s birth story to encourage those mothers who have been advised to have a c-section and those mothers who may end up having to have an emergency c-section.
