Mothers and fathers rarely get adequate praise and recognition for the every day tasks. This beautifully written article reminds us that we may never receive recognition for the areas in which we serve others (washing the dishes, changing poopy diapers, serving in the church, comforting those in despair, pushing your neighbor’s trash barrels back up to their house, etc) but how we serve others is more important than what we are actually doing.

This is a very interesting article regarding on going studies of the use of Inositol to prevent gestational diabetes. Like with all medications, there are risks and the researchers are being cautious but this is still interesting research…at least for those of us research nerds. 🙂
Alpha Childbirth is a Christian childbirth education organization. They have an on going devotional series focusing on one word. This week’s word was “community.” They talk about the importance of building a community to fight loneliness. Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Parenthood can be lonely, daunting, frustrating, and terrifying at times. It helps to have a community of people who you can teach you what they know, can relate with what you are going through, and who one day you may be able encourage with your story of how you made it through.
This is a great article from Tim Challies discussing what he and his wife learned while raising their three children. Great advice to hold onto and refer to when raising kids becomes challenging.
