Patience is no less important in the last days of pregnancy or in the midst of labor.
“Failure to progress” or “prolonged labor” is the leading cause for unplanned Cesarean sections in the US. However, this is often more due to impatience with the labor progress than a potentially dangerous situation. The best way to prevent being diagnosed with “failure to progress” is to labor at home as long as you can.
